The Scarlets have announced the signing of a young lock from New Zealand. Tom Allen, who is 21 years old and stands 6 feet 6 inches tall, joins from the Hurricanes, the current Super Rugby champions. He previously played for New Zealand’s Under-20s team.

A Rising Star from Down Under

Allen came through the ranks in New Zealand rugby. He was part of the Hurricanes squad that won the Super Rugby Pacific title. He also represented his country at the U20 level, gaining valuable experience against top young players.

What He Brings to the Scarlets

The Welsh region is getting a player with several strengths:

  • Height and physical presence that will help in lineouts and scrums.
  • Youth and potential to develop further under the Scarlets coaching staff.
  • Experience from a top Super Rugby program, which includes playing alongside international stars.

Looking Ahead to the Next Season

The Scarlets are building for the future, and Allen’s signing adds depth to their second row. Fans can expect to see him compete for a spot in the team next season as the club aims for success in the United Rugby Championship.
