Leigh Leopards put on a show at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium, defeating the Warrington Wolves 24-6 on the first day of Magic Weekend. The win pushed the Leopards closer to the top six in the Super League standings, giving their playoff hopes a big boost.

Fans packed the stands to watch a fast-paced, hard-hitting game. From the start, Leigh controlled the action and never let Warrington get comfortable.

First-Half Fireworks

Leigh came out firing in the first half. They scored three tries before the break, building a lead that Warrington couldn’t overcome. The Leopards’ attack was sharp, with quick passes and strong runs that kept the Wolves’ defense on their heels.

  • Two tries came from powerful forward drives close to the line.
  • A third try was a sweeping move out wide that caught Warrington off guard.
  • Leigh’s kicker converted two of the three tries for a 16-0 halftime lead.

Defense Stands Tall

In the second half, Leigh’s defense took center stage. Warrington tried to fight back, but the Leopards’ line speed and tackling shut them down again and again. The Wolves managed only one try and missed the conversion, leaving them stuck at six points.

Leigh added another try and a penalty goal to seal the win. Their defensive effort was the key—they forced several turnovers and never let Warrington build any momentum.

Playoff Push Gains Steam

This victory moves Leigh closer to the top six, which is crucial for making the Super League playoffs. With a few games left in the regular season, every win matters. The Leopards showed they can beat tough opponents and will look to carry this form into their next match.

Fans are excited about the team’s chances. If Leigh keeps playing with this mix of strong defense and smart attack, they could be a dangerous team in the postseason.
